As everyone knows, the New York Rangers could be looking to ship RW Ryan Callahan at the deadline. They have identified one possible option to match, which is sending Callahan to St. Louis in exchange for RW Chris Stewart. They are looking for a RW to replace Callahan. I heard something about RW Johan Franzen which actually sparked my thinking. Sure Franzen is older than Stewart but he is a way better scorer and leader. If you could package Franzen and a middle round draft pick for Callahan that would fit both teams perfect. Franzen has been in and out of injury this year, just like the rest of the Wings, so they need a healthy forward if Zetterberg will be out for extensive time. New York is looking to stay in the playoff race in the Metropolitan division, so adding a scorer like Franzen would definitely help them out. Not only that they would have an extra draft pick for young talent in the next year. This trade would work perfectly for both teams and I just hope it actually happens.
