Zetterberg was ruled out for the rest of the Olympics on Friday, but Red Wings officials have yet to confirm how much time he'll miss with the injury or if he'll be ready to go when NHL play resumes. That being said, Zetterberg has been bothered by chronic back issues since at least 2008, and it appears the latest flare-up of his herniated disc is particularly problematic. For the Red Wings to stay in the playoff contention, they will need a 100% Pavel Datsyuk to lead this offense. Tatar, Jurco, and Nyquist have been a good burst of youth, speed, and energy this season but losing your captain you need a veteran leader to step up. Kronwall will continue to anchor the defense as the captain and Pavel will need to lead this offense and get the whole team energized. Every Red Wings fan can only hope that after the Olympic break, the Red Wings figure out the goalie situation. As of right now, I would call it a complete coin flip. Just pick one to be the starter the rest of the season and put the focus on the offense and scoring issue. We can all only hope this is the last injury of so many for the Red Wings.
