USA vs. Canada Preview
While I’m out working my ass off, the United States of America will be taking on Canada. I will hopefully being receiving updates. My ideal game tomorrow will start with Backes dropping Crosby in open ice, Price getting lit up early, and Quick being unbeatable. That would be the most ideal situation for every single American. Lay the body early on those pansies is the only way to go. And this video goes out to all those Canadians, Eh.

Goalies:
Price vs. Quick. The classic battle between two of the best goalies in the game right now. Advantage USA. Price is one of those goalies where in warm ups and the beginning of the game, he looks like the best goalie in the game. Maybe a Vladislav Tretiak or Jim Craig. After that, I could friggin’ score on him. I watched him play the Tampa Bay Lightning a week before the Olympics and he was the biggest sieve in the NHL. Sure he is unstoppable in a shootout but this game can’t go to a shootout. Quick is my pick for the top goalie in the NHL. The guy plays like he is huge. One of the most agile, quickest, and most impressive goalie there is. Quick will have the adrenaline pumping and Miller will be the best back up to have in this game, knows exactly how to beat them.
Defense:
Defense wins championships. That is the motto of everyone and these two power house defenses will go head to head. Sure Canada is extremely gifted on the offense but how is Shea Weber, Drew Doughty, Duncan Keith or Jay Bouwmeester going to handle all of USA’s offensive pests; Backes, Callahan, Brown and Kesler. USA has the perfect balance of offensive defensemen, two way defensemen and defensive defensemen. Ryan Suter and Ryan McDonagh are an absolute shut down defensive line. Then I would go Paul Martin and Kevin Shattenkirk as the two way defensemen. Finally, as I would have it, Cam Fowler and John Carlson as the offensive juggernaut. Carlson’s clap bomb from the Slovakia game still gives me chills. Advantage USA.

Offense:
On paper, Canada is an offensive powerhouse. How have they played so far? They couldn’t shoot themselves out of a wet paper bag right now. The defense is carrying Canada’s offense. Everyone is going to freak out like, what about Crosby, Toews, Sharp, Perry, St. Louis, and Getzlaf? And I will say, yeah how have they done in the Olympics? I take USA’s four lines over Canada’s four lines anyday. Call me a homer but advantage USA. Backes is playing phenomenal and would be my MVP so far. The fourth line is over exceeding big time. Kessel is playing like Kane should and Kane is playing like he is overthinking everything. Offense clicking on all cylinders over any Canadians.
Keys to victory for America:
1. Kane. Same as @Simpsonati. Kane is playing terrible. Over playing everything and as of now he can’t hit a pass. He needs to step up big time. Parise stepped up against Czech Republic and scored his first goal of the Olympics. Now it’s Kane’s turn.
2. Keep Orpik right next to Bylsma. Orpik needs to stay on the bench until the Americans have a comfortable lead. I don’t care about his and Martin’s chemistry. I want Carlson out there.
3. The high intensity needs to keep up. The hitting, the forecheck, the defensive pressure, and the outstanding goaltending needs to continue into this game. Most of the players on this team weren’t even there in 2010 so that being in their head won’t be a problem. Go out there like this is any other game and play your heart out.
Que the pump up video!
4-2 USA (1 Kesler, 1 Backes, 1 Kane, 1 JVR) (1 Weber, 1 St. Louis)
Sidenote: @Simpsonati took all the good video
