I follow numerous Cleveland Cavaliers fans on social media and I was appalled at what everyone was tweeting. "Deng looks like he can't even start", "Why is Zeller even playing", "Bennett doesn't even deserve playing time". These are just a few tweets I saw. First of all, when Deng came over from Chicago everyone with a brain knew Deng was a defensive specialist. Nobody said he was going to come over and be a dominant offensive presence like James, Anthony, George, etc. And he doesn't need to be a major offensive presence with the likes of Irving and Waiters. Now the Zeller comments really got my blood pumping. Zeller had literally carried the Cavs in their win streak. He has been the spark off the bench that they have needed all season long. Thompson has played far worse and no one has said a word. Zeller also a far better upside than Thompson. Zeller has the knowledge to make up for the lack of athleticism when comparing him to Thompson. You can just see when Zeller is in, there are so many more plays ran than when Thompson is in. And for the Bennett comments, that is just typical Cavs fans. Sure the guy started slow but now he has turned in double double after double double. Big time turn around from the beginning of the year. If every Cavs fan was like @RexCampbell26, we wouldn't have this problem.
